This is a project commissioned by the Barcelona City Council with the objective to transform the space next to the Santa Maria temple in Vallvidrera into a park for the public.
This space is located within the Collserola Natural Park and it is currently unused and full of vegetation, including old trees.
The park would be accessible and would accommodate different activities, including walking paths, seating areas and concerts.
The proposal works with the existing topography and creates two terraces that are interconnected, using ramps and stairs at specific locations, establishing different access routes between them and from the perimeter of the park.
The access in front of the temple is transformed into a small plaza that includes seating areas, also connected to the new terraces.
Long benches are introduced, serving also as retaining walls between different levels of terrain.
A new access to the park is proposed at the upper level, to create a connection to the existing parking space and leisure area, which includes a small restaurant.
